General Information: Summer 2010

The University of Leicester was founded in 1921 and was granted its Royal Charter in 1957. Students at the Summer School will be accommodated in single study bedrooms in a University Hall of Residence on the campus in Oadby. En suite bedrooms are also available at an additional cost. Bed linen (duvets) and towels will be provided, with a change of towels during the week. Tea/coffee making is available in the bedrooms and ironing facilities are supplied in kitchen areas in the accommodation blocks. Coin-operated washing machines and tumble dryers are also available. The University sports facilities are available during the week, and there is a public swimming pool within reasonable walking distance.

The Oadby campus is only three miles from the city centre and the mainline railway station. There are good bus links between the campus and the city of Leicester, which has excellent shopping and the largest covered market in Europe. Birmingham/East Midlands Airport is also within easy reach.
